Let's Make a Difference Together...
Hello Friends!
Marvin and I have just started working with International Christian Adoptions (ICA) as advocates for orphan adoptions. ICA has been partnering with different countries around the world and recently started a program with the Phillippines. We have volunteered to be a part of the Philippines Welcome Home Program. This year, 18 Filipino orphans from various orphanages around the PI will be coming to Temecula. Some already have prospective adoptive parents, some are coming with the hopes of being adopted. All are between the ages of 7 to 15. More than the hopes of adoption, these children are coming to represent the faces of all the Filipino orphans who have endured not only poverty but unspeakable cruelties in the PI, and are in dire need for support and humanitarian aid.
Marvin and I have agreed to host one child during the duration of their time here. He will be living with us for one month, from November 6th to December 2nd. His name is Mark Anthony and he is 10 years old. Our main role will be to show him the love of Jesus through our family and church, as well as to help him have fun while he's here. We will also be assisting ICA in presenting him, along with the other children, at various churches and events to raise awareness and advocate for his adoption.
We would like to be able to provide Mark Anthony with the best possible experience while he is here so that even if he doesn't get adopted, he will leave with wonderful memories of his first visit (and maybe last) to the United States. Marvin and I are not getting paid for our services. This is purely from the heart and we know that the opportunity to be a part of Mark Anthony's life (even for a short while) will be a blessing to us.
Marvin and I would appreciate your help in 'sponsoring' Mark Anthony's stay with us. We will need some financial assistance with Mark, but more importantly, we'd like to give you the opportunity to be blessed by making a difference in the life of a child and supporting the Philippines. Our hope is to raise $1000 to assist with Mark Anthony's stay and to contribute to the humanitarian aid we will be sending home with him. If, by God's grace, we receive more than our goal, we are committed to donating the additional monies to ICA to help support the $60,000 they will need to fund the Philippines Welcome Home Program in the spring of 2009.
Whatever you could donate will be appreciated, whether it be $5, $20, or however much you feel in your heart to give. Click on the button below to make your donation now and remember that it's tax-deductible:
We are so excited for Mark Anthony and the rest of the orphans' arrival!! We are grateful for your support and ask that you keep Mark Anthony and the other orphaned children in your prayers.
God Bless you all,
Sherill Montillano

'Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is
the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which
do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are
the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for
they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the
children of God.
